Teotihuacan was an aggressive mercancile empire
during Early Classic times. The Teotihuacan empire was larger,
and lasted centuries longer, than the area controlled by either
the later Toltecs or Aztecs (both of whose cultures borrowed extensively
from Teotihuacan traditions). F.L.A.A.R. has devoted many years
of research to learning more about Teotihuacan, the art of the
imperial home city, and the art of its farflung provinces. Check
out any of the directories
of links of this or other F.L.A.A.R. web sites for Tiquisate,
the largest Teotihuacan province outside of Central Mexico (Tiquisate
was in the Costa Sur region of Guatemala).
